Clinical Biochemistry

Clinical biochemistry is concerned with methodology and interpretation of a wide range of in vitro chemical and biochemical tests performed on body fluids and tissues, to support diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease.

Clinical pathology

This branch of pathology involves the laboratory analysis of body fluids (such as blood, urine or cerebrospinal fluid), Semen and Stool.

Cytopathology

Cytopathology, synonymous with Cytology, is a branch of anatomic pathology that studies Cells under microscope and which includes procedures like Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC).

Hematology

Hematology is a branch of medicine concerning the study of blood, blood-forming organs such as bone marrow, and blood-related disorders and diseases.

Histopathology

Histopathology is the diagnosis and study of diseases of the tissues, and involves examining tissues and/or cells under a microscope.

Clinical Microbiology

Is a subdiscipline of Microbiology dealing with the study of microorganisms (parasites, fungi, bacteria, viruses etc) capable of infecting and causing diseases in humans.

Molecular Biology

The study of biology on a molecular level including the structure, function, and makeup of biologically important molecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins.

Serology

Serology is the study of blood, serum and other body fluids for detection of antigen and/or antibody for cellular typing or detection of diseases.

Immunology

Immunology focuses on the study of the immune system, which is the body's defence mechanism against pathogens, infectious agents, and other foreign substances.
